We work in close partnership with community organizers because we don’t believe that legal interventions alone can create lasting change. History teaches us that transformative change occurs when movements—grounded in community organizing that builds the capacity, solidarity and power of people experiencing injustice—become strong enough to shift power dynamics in their societies.
